Your future role

Take on a new challenge and leverage your expertise in mechanical engineering and leadership in a cutting-edge field.

As a Domain Leader, you play a key role in managing and developing the Specialized Disciplines team, ensuring the implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS) and the Technical Business Framework.

You have a general knowledge of train mechanical architecture, interface management, crashworthiness, mechanical integration, systems engineering, materials, and project management (quality, cost, schedule) and are recognized for your engaging leadership qualities—you are our ideal candidate.

This position, based at our Kingston, Ontario site, is a full-time permanent role (40 hours/week) – able to work in an international, multi-site, matrix organization. Hybrid work environment – 3 days on-site.

You will be in charge to
  • Manage the team of experts in cross-disciplinary fields: ergonomics, environmental climate adaptation, materials, bonding, eco-design, as well as aerodynamics and aerothermal engineering applied to trains
  • Define mitigation plans for identified risks and validate technical documents (3D models and 2D assembly drawings)
  • Forecast workload and identify the necessary resources to meet commitments in terms of quality, cost, and schedule (QCD) Support the team in problem-solving and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Allocate appropriate resources to projects, programs, and tenders
  • Manage the development of the Cross-Disciplinary team to ensure alignment of capabilities, workloads, and skills
  • Strictly adhere to the established processes, methods, and tools corresponding to these activities
Your mission
  • Exercise methodical, collaborative, and proactive technical leadership
  • Maintain close collaboration with the Technical Design teams, Central Engineering, and Workload Management
  • Meet established standards for quality, productivity, and satisfaction of internal and external clients
  • Contribute to any continuous improvement/lessons learned (REX) projects from previous projects
About You

  • University degree in mechanical engineering – preferably MSc.
  • Proven experience in managing engineering teams
  • Strong communication skills in both French and English
  • Proficiency in computer/office tools (Microsoft Suite, ERP SAP)
