The Technical Integration & Solution Architect is a key role within our Digital Information Technology department, responsible for designing and governing integrated solution architectures that support both immediate delivery needs and long‑term enterprise objectives. This role ensures seamless integration across applications, platforms, and infrastructure while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards and strategic roadmaps. Acting as a trusted advisor on complex projects, this role drives technology consistency, scalability, and risk mitigation through strong governance and collaboration with business leaders and delivery teams. Expertise in SAP configuration (across multiple modules), integration leadership in large‑scale environments, and familiarity with Refining Fuel Network Operations areas are essential to building robust, future‑ready solutions that enable resilient and integrated business operations.

The Technical Integration & Solution Architect is a key technical team member within our D&IT Corporate Delivery Team, responsible for designing, governing, and evolving integrated solution architectures across SAP and non‑SAP landscapes. This role ensures stability, scalability, and compliance in a complex environment, enabling resilient and future‑ready solutions. You will act as the primary escalation point for critical incidents.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent forms of education.
  • Years of experience: 10+ years of SAP experience, including supporting and/or leading S/4Hana Implementations.
  • SAP Certifications – i.e. SAP FI/CO, SAP IS‑Oil, SAP MM certifications and other relevant SAP certifications.
  • Ability to combine deep functional knowledge with technical expertise in SAP ABAP (SAP BTP is considered an asset).
  • Deep configuration knowledge in at least three SAP modules.
  • Familiarity with RFNO (Retail Fuel Network Operations) areas.
  • Proven ability to design and govern complex, integrated architectures in large‑scale enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Navigate complex integrations across SAP modules (Finance, MSP, MGS, OMIF) and non‑SAP systems in the Corporate Unit Delivery space.
  • Combine strong functional knowledge with deep technical expertise in SAP ABAP and SAP BTP.
  • Act as the first point of contact during critical incidents, diagnosing transport or configuration challenges quickly.
  • Lead technical accountability, cross‑corporate integrations across SAP modules (Finance, MSP, MGS, OMIF) ensuring incident hygiene and adherence to Clean Core standards.
  • Coordinate senior solution designers to resolve integrated business problems across diverse landscapes.
  • Drive cutover and functional integration for major initiatives, including SAP Functional Upgrades.
  • Champion enterprise architecture principles, technology standards, and solution patterns to maintain consistency and scalability.
Location and other key details:
  • This is an office‑based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 –6th Ave S.W.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40‑hour work week, Monday to Friday.
  • Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based on years of experience and scope of work.
