POSITION SUMMARY

Openings : POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible to support Culture and Museum activities. Working closely with staff from the division this position will support activities at the Niagara Falls History Museum, Niagara Falls Exchange and other Cultural initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for inventory, sales and service of alcohol at events.
  • Responsible for daily administration, for example: filing and administrative duties such as daily reports, preparing and ensuring completion of appropriate forms for programs, organizing program equipment for instructors and program staff, plans and promotional information as required.
  • Provide assistance to culture team during events and programmes by: processing memberships and collecting fees, taking attendance and entering data, preparing and ensuring the completion of forms (when required).
  • Assist culture team with pre-event assistance, obtaining supplies, administration support of vendors at markets, and researching potential vendors or other partners for events.
  • Assist during rentals by providing setup and takedown assistance, customer service and monitoring of the site for health and safety issues, cleanliness and adherence to contracts.
  • Responsible for customer-related interactions at the Exchange and Niagara Falls History Museum, for example: answering the phone and greeting visitors upon arrival; answering questions and providing program information; and processing registrations, facility bookings and retail sales transactions (payments) via ActiveNet (system) and POS system.
  • Monitor class registration levels and provide information to culture staff.
  • Monitor facility safety and cleanliness, for example: assisting with kitchen and room setup and takedown; cleaning the facility to ensure it is tidy and that adequate supplies are available to guests; reporting problems and unusual occurrences to supervisors.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum High School education.
  • Smart Serve.
  • Valid class G driver's license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, POS and event booking software.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle cash, balance, deposits, etc.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, liaise with key internal and external stakeholders and to function effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Availability to work flexible hours (most shifts will be evenings and weekends).
