Job Overview:

ClearBlue Markets is building a sophisticated financial intelligence platform that powers high‑end advisory services for institutional clients navigating global carbon markets. Our enterprise‑grade application serves Fortune 500 companies, major industrial emitters, and leading financial institutions—delivering complex market analytics, pricing intelligence, and regulatory compliance tools through advanced data visualization and financial modeling capabilities.

As a Software Engineer, you’ll develop features for our Vantage platform, working with intricate financial datasets, multi‑jurisdictional carbon pricing mechanisms, and enterprise‑scale data infrastructure. You’ll build sophisticated interfaces featuring complex interactive tables, advanced charting libraries, and market dashboards that rival leading financial terminals. You’ll also design and implement integrations with third‑party data providers, regulatory systems, and external market platforms. Our engineering team maintains a rapid release cadence with multiple deployments per week while ensuring zero‑downtime operations for our clients.

Environmental commodity markets—encompassing carbon credits, emissions allowances, and offset instruments across 15+ global jurisdictions—are evolving rapidly. You’ll work in a fast‑paced, intellectually stimulating environment where you’ll master both financial technology and environmental commodity markets.

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Engineering, you’ll collaborate with a distributed team of several software engineers across Toronto and Amsterdam. Together, we’re building the essential infrastructure that enables businesses worldwide to achieve their decarbonization objectives while managing complex compliance obligations and financial risks. The role requires you to work 4‑days in our Toronto office.

  • Build FinTech‑caliber applications for the carbon markets sector
  • Work with sophisticated financial instruments and multi‑market pricing data
  • Develop complex data grids, interactive visualizations, and analytical tools comparable to professional financial market platforms
  • Solve challenging technical problems involving data processing, financial calculations, and regulatory compliance automation
  • Join a team that values technical proficiency, promotes a can‑do attitude, and encourages transparent communication about your work
  • Contribute in an environment where engineers are empowered to make technical decisions and drive innovation
Skills:
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and analytical thinking
  • An affinity for financial and commodities markets
  • Ability to work proactively on both independent and collaborative tasks with minimal direction and ambiguity
  • Strong sense of accountability—ability to work under pressure, meet documented timelines, and communicate progress transparently
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical and non‑technical concepts effectively across the team
