Intuit is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager 2, Software Development to lead the TurboTax Front Doors team. The TurboTax Front Doors team is responsible for the highly personalized entry and shopping experience for millions of returning customers, a critical component of achieving aggressive growth and retention targets. This team owns the user experience of pre-authorization pages, which are essential levers for managing customer perception of price-value.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, a deep understanding of Full stack technologies, and a proven track record of delivering customer impact. They are a strategic collaborator who partners effectively across product, engineering, and operations to deliver transformative, high-impact outcomes. They excel at combining deep technical expertise with strong people leadership—mentoring and empowering software engineers while fostering a culture of ownership, excellence, and rapid execution. They will also have a strong sense of operational excellence, a passion for building and growing high‑performing teams.

Intuit has embraced a hybrid working model and requires 3 days in office per week at our downtown Toronto office location.

Responsibilities
  • Explore and implement AI and agentic technologies to improve system automation and capabilities, including AI‑powered autoscaling.
  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support.
  • Drive the design, development, and deployment of complex and large‑scale software systems.
  • Ensure the reliability, scalability, and deployment of our software systems.
  • Implement and maintain best practices for software development, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing.
  • Design and build an abstraction for the computing infrastructure to improve usability and developer efficiency.
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, focusing on system stability, monitoring, and incident response.
  • Take extreme ownership and accountability for the team's deliverables and outcomes.
  • Remove barriers so the team can move fast.
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product management, engineering partners, and operations. As these teams and part of the reporting team are distributed globally, the position requires the ability to flex working hours to support collaboration across various time zones (including Pacific and Indian Standard Time).
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Must have an understanding of SEO fundamentals, site performance, and accessibility best practices and how engineering choices influence organic traffic, ranking, and overall site visibility.
  • Background working on large‑scale consumer websites (millions of users) with a focus on performance, experimentation (A/B testing), and delivering measurable impact on customer engagement and conversion.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on developing complex and large‑scale systems.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing software engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
  • Strong technical skills and expertise in software development methodologies.
  • Strong sense of operational excellence, with experience in system monitoring and incident response.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to build and grow a high‑performing team.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Nice to Have
  • Experience partnering with marketing, SEO, and analytics teams to optimize high‑traffic customer acquisition pages, ensuring engineering decisions support business growth, funnel conversion, and retention goals.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with marketing agencies, brand teams, and product marketers to execute campaigns, manage content workflows, and ensure technical alignment with go‑to‑market strategies.
  • Familiarity with third‑party software solutions such as Akamai or similar content delivery and performance tools is considered a strong asset.
