The Snow and Ice Operations Manager will oversee the full cycle of snow and ice management operations, which represent a significant portion of the overall grounds’ maintenance portfolio. This role will support the continued expansion of Oakridge\'s snow and ice management services while driving growth and strengthening our presence within the communities we serve. In this role you will be reporting directly to the Grounds Keeping Senior Manager.

Pay and Benefits
  • Pay: $80K per year.

Responsibilities
  • Manage snow operations, salting, service requests and seasonal close-out of snow operations, including:
    • Removal of snow bins.
    • Removal of snow markers.
    • Power sweeping.
    • Power washing.
    • Line Painting.
  • Review and understand the entire snow portfolio, including each site’s scope of work.
  • Prepare, review and track snow related estimates for current and new clients.
  • Develop and maintain snow site documentation and videos.
  • Set up and complete on-site snow reviews and meetings; complete and distribute electronic files to clients.
  • Assist with sales activities and support ongoing client and customer relations.
  • Secure salt supply, including purchasing, multiple suppliers, PO, storage, and inventory management.
  • Identify and secure snow dump sites in all regions and confirm tipping fees prior to the season.
  • Review available equipment, identify required replacements, and coordinate removals as needed.
  • Create inspection rotation schedules for snow supervisors.
  • Ensure required reports are completed accurately and in accordance with the company policy.
  • Review and understand snow-related profit and loss (P&L) statements.
  • Monitor operational costs and support financial accountability across snow operations.
  • Work closely with other production managers to balance snow operations and construction priorities.
  • Be aware of project targets before, during, and at the end of a job. Be mindful of labour and material costs and be able to raise alerts to management if targets are out and be prepared to explain why.
Requirements
  • Be on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week during snow.
  • 5 years of managing snow operations.
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean Driver’s Abstract (must be maintained as this is a condition of employment).
  • Experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control and job safety work habits.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and crews.
  • Knowledge of Bid2Win is considered as an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Product (Excel, Outlook, Word – Intermediate).
