Overview

Job Purpose Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the Shift Operations Assistant will provide general support and assistance to the Plant Operations team and the Conference Services Coordinator.

Responsibilities
  • Event set-up, removal - Provide event setup/takedown and event supports. Includes tables of all sizes, chairs, stage and steel framed canopies
  • Setting up & operating sounds system and projector screen
  • Snow Removal/Grounds - Assist Grounds Keeper, Snow/ice removal, lawn and grounds care, interior plants
  • Experience with lawn care and snow removal equipment preferred
  • Assist Technical Staff - Maintenance Generalists, Electrician, Outsource Trades, Provide General Support to the campus community
  • Furniture, equipment moves and building of furniture
  • Assist with deliveries and office coverage - Includes occasional coverage for mail services clerk
  • Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
  • Physically fit, able to lift 20-50lbs regularly
  • Numeracy, written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic hand tools, dollies, moving equipment
  • Time management and planning skills with little supervision
  • Reliable, independent
  • Knowledge in electronics, sounds systems etc
  • Safe operation of snow removal and lawn equipment
  • Strong people skills
