Overview
Job Purpose Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the Shift Operations Assistant will provide general support and assistance to the Plant Operations team and the Conference Services Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Event set-up, removal - Provide event setup/takedown and event supports. Includes tables of all sizes, chairs, stage and steel framed canopies
- Setting up & operating sounds system and projector screen
- Snow Removal/Grounds - Assist Grounds Keeper, Snow/ice removal, lawn and grounds care, interior plants
- Experience with lawn care and snow removal equipment preferred
- Assist Technical Staff - Maintenance Generalists, Electrician, Outsource Trades, Provide General Support to the campus community
- Furniture, equipment moves and building of furniture
- Assist with deliveries and office coverage - Includes occasional coverage for mail services clerk
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Physically fit, able to lift 20-50lbs regularly
- Numeracy, written and verbal communication skills
- Basic hand tools, dollies, moving equipment
- Time management and planning skills with little supervision
- Reliable, independent
- Knowledge in electronics, sounds systems etc
- Safe operation of snow removal and lawn equipment
- Strong people skills
- Committed to providing support whenever necessary
Education And Qualifications
- Completion of high school preferred
- Driver’s license required
