WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT’s impact is far-reaching as we collaborate with partners from across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions. As a Senior Application Support Analyst, you will coordinate production support activities for major systems and related subsystems to ensure the integrity of computer-generated data and will apply your experience and seasoned knowledge, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Experience with the incident and problem management lifecycles.
  • Undergraduate degree coupled with change management experience in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.
  • Willing to take a business focused, holistic approach to delivering operations. A self-starter with the creativity to solve problems independently.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with a range of team members, stakeholders, partners, vendors, and business users.
  • Displays a sense of ownership and exhibits flexibility, resilience, and resourcefulness. Working knowledge of both real-time and batch transaction process monitoring and issue response.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Business Automation (Installation / Configuration / Management) [nice to have: Cloudpak for Data experience/knowledge]
  • Knowledge of monitoring and SRE tools and practices (e.g., Elastic Search, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios)
  • RHEL Openshift Platform (Installation / Configuration / Management)
    Understanding of RHEL scripting, Shells Bash, Ksh etc.
  • Experience working with data solutions and pipelines, CI/CD and DevOps, GitHub capabilities in a data environment. (nice to have: on AWS)
  • Knowledge of database technology (e.g. Postgres, DB2).
    Experience with IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) and Hadoop (Cloudera) platforms.
  • Experience with Kafka and troubleshoot Kafka related issues.

Nice-to-have:

  • Ideal candidate would possess some business knowledge in Retail & Commercial arena as it is often essential to be able to express technical issues in business terms, and vice-versa.
  • Experience with IBM Cloud Pak Services (IKC, Watson Studio, Data Stage, Watson Query), knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift based deployments and Data Lifecycle Management.
  • Prior experience or knowledge of AWS Services EC2, RDS, VPC, Storage, IAM, Data Lakes, Data warehouses and Big Data environments and Generative AI.
  • Big Data, Data Warehousing, Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning, ETL (Extract, Transform and load data) tools
