Job description
About Us

HONK is transforming the way parking operates across North America by enabling municipalities, universities, and private operators to eliminate physical payment infrastructure and transition to digital parking permits. Our innovative platform addresses the diverse challenges faced by parking operators, allowing them to focus on their core business. With hundreds of millions of payments processed per year, HONK is dedicated to product velocity and technological excellence.

Role Overview

We are looking for an intermediate Product Manager to join our fast-moving team and help grow our permit line of business. In this role, you’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and operations to define and ship high-quality product features that improve the parking experience for both consumers and operators. You’ll play a key role in shaping the roadmap, driving execution, and helping scale a platform that handles tens of millions in mobile parking transactions annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Product Discovery & Prioritization: Work closely with stakeholders and customers to understand pain points, define opportunities, and shape features that drive business impact and improve the user experience
  • Roadmap & Execution: Own the end-to-end lifecycle of features from shaping problems through delivery. Prioritize ruthlessly to balance speed, quality, and scope.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers, designers, and operators to turn ideas into industry-leading software and digital experiences. Maintain tight feedback loops and ensure alignment throughout the development and delivery processes.
  • Technical Understanding: Work comfortably with APIs, mobile payment flows, and technical integrations. Ask the right questions, manage edge cases, and translate business needs into clear product specs.
  • Quality & Outcomes: Use data and operator feedback to measure the impact of what we ship. Iterate quickly and responsibly to ensure features perform in the real world.
  • Team Communication & Process: Help improve our product development process and documentation. Participate in shaping how the team works, especially as we continue scaling the platform.
Qualifications
  • Experience: 3-5 years of product management experience, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Domain Knowledge: Experience with B2B SaaS applications. Comfort working in payments, order-to-cash workflows, or other operationally complex domains.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with APIs, backend / frontend integrations, and mobile payment platforms.
  • User Focus: Deep user empathy and a keen eye for world-class consumer experiences. Ability to balance business goals with user needs - and to make smart tradeoffs when constraints arise.
  • Communication: Clear and concise written and verbal communicator. Able to break down technical problems for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa.
  • Professional Attributes: Ownership-minded, pragmatic, and biased toward action. Comfortable working independently and in collaboration with technical teams.
Bonus Points
  • Experience with mobile wallets or contactless payments
  • Familiarity with Shape Up methodology
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 CAD, commensurate with experience and location.
  • Work Environment: Hybrid with flexibility to work outside of the country for short periods each year.
  • Benefits Package: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage; paid vacation and personal days
