The Role:

At Medcan, the Senior Manager, Operations (Clinic Services) plays a pivotal role in overseeing and optimizing our Annual Health Assessment (AHA) clinic operations, while also serving as a critical business partner in shaping the future growth and transformation of the AHA product. This leader collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams to drive initiatives that elevate the client experience, strengthen clinical and operational workflows, and ensure service excellence.

Reporting to the Director, the Senior Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across diverse clinical and non‑clinical teams, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day performance, a culture of continuous quality improvement, and adherence to evidence‑based practices and legislative requirements.

The Senior Manager is also instrumental in supporting Medcan’s ambitious multi‑site growth, expansion, and product transformation efforts. This role is tailored for a seasoned operational leader with exceptional business acumen, strong analytical capabilities, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence within complex clinical environments. Emphasis on transformation readiness, future‑proofing strategies, and the adoption of AI and automation to enhance efficiency and scalability is essential.

What You'll Do:
Operational Management:
  • Lead and mentor the clinical operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and accountability.
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure teams meets performance targets and objectives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical operations.
  • Streamline processes and workflows to improve productivity and resource utilization.
  • Ensure all clinical operations comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Implement quality assurance measures to maintain high standards of care.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align clinical operations with overall organizational goals.
  • Oversee resource allocation, including staffing levels, budget management, and procurement of necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of clinical operations.
  • Generate regular reports and analyses to inform decision‑making and drive improvements.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the safety and well‑being of clients and staff.
  • Support training and professional development opportunities for clinical staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Provide support within the range of hours that the business is open (currently Monday to Saturday 6:30am to 7:00 pm).
Business Management
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders at Medcan to introduce new ideas and solutions to improve the AHA brand‑value and experience.
  • Develop and implement new processes and models in AHA operations that align with Medcan’s strategies and future‑proof membership ops.
  • Drive change management initiatives to support the business’ growth and sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities to realize efficiencies and/or elevate the client experience leveraging automation, AI or existing technologies.
  • Use forecasts and projections to plan future fiscal year impacts on budgets and resources.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or another healthcare field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in clinical operations management.
  • Track record of successful people management and change management expertise.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite.
Position Pay Range

$98,316.00 - $135,183.75 CAD annually

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
