A governmental agency in Yellowknife is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to provide expert financial planning and analysis for annual budgets. The role involves preparing financial statements and advising on accounting standards. Candidates should have a CPA and related experience in financial management. The position offers a Northern Living Allowance and a comprehensive benefits package.
The Senior Financial Analyst provides expert financial planning and analysis services related to the annual operating and capital budget, which is prepared for review by Finance leadership, Senior Management, and final approval by the Governance Council. This individual is also tasked with producing quarterly operational and capital expenditure reports that are reviewed by Leadership before being submitted to the Governance Council. A significant part of the role involves the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance reports.
Furthermore, the Senior Financial analyst provides professional advice and interpretation to various departments on complex accounting standards, including GAAP, IFRS, and FAA, as well as relevant WSCC directives.

May be considered based on a one-year of directly related experience equivalent to one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
