Job description

Our client is currently recruiting a Senior Dietitian to join the Children’s Disability Network Team (CDNT) in Athlone, supporting children and young people across the Moate and Ferbane areas.

The CDNT provides interdisciplinary support to children and young people aged 0–18 years with complex needs arising from disability. The team works closely with families to enable participation, inclusion, and wellbeing.

They are committed to a neuro affirmative, strengths-based approach that recognises and builds upon each child’s unique abilities, supporting them to achieve their potential in partnership with parents, carers, and the wider community.

As a Senior Dietitian within the CDNT, you will:

  • Provide expert nutritional assessment, intervention, and management for children and young people with complex needs.
  • Work as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team, collaborating with Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Social Work, and Medical colleagues.
  • Support families and carers in understanding and meeting the nutritional and feeding needs of their children.
  • Contribute to service development and quality improvement within the network.

Applicants must:

  • Hold a recognised qualification in Dietetics.
  • Be registered with CORU.
  • Have a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience, with relevant experience in paediatrics and/or disability services.
  • Have a full driver’s license with access to own vehicle.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and clinical skills.
