About the Role

The Senior Business Systems Analyst uses systems analysis skills to design, implement, develop, and support complex software solutions, primarily focusing on Workday. The Analyst will resolve complex problems, provide comprehensive recommendations, and support data integration with other University systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation, configuration, and ongoing enhancement of Workday solutions and ensure all projects and systems adhere to Workday best practices and organizational policies.
  • Support governance, functional optimization, and continuous improvement of Brock’s enterprise systems.
  • Manage and implement strategies for securing administrative applications and data through role‑based application security.
  • Design and maintain business systems solutions to meet the needs of the University, integrating with other University systems.
  • Provide maintenance support for administrative systems, identify problems, and work with developers as necessary to resolve production problems.
  • Integrate third‑party software solutions with existing processes by analyzing and implementing robust data management procedures.
  • Design integrated solutions and provide specifications for application development.
  • Test and provide quality assurance measures, working with Database Analysts, developers, and other key partners.
  • Manage assigned resources and schedules for project implementation and serve as lead analyst/project leader for projects and enhancements of administrative systems.
  • Provide input into the architecture of enterprise solutions for the University, including design, planning, implementation, and governance of information systems.
  • Work with customers to discuss system problems and propose enhancements and new projects.
Key Skills and Experience
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Information Technology, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience coordinating and supporting IT business processes, implementing third‑party software systems, and integrating complex systems.
  • Experience in a Leadership/Manager/Supervisor role and leading IT projects.
  • Experience supporting Workday HCM and/or Finance.
  • Solid understanding of the University’s systems and information requirements, and business requirements.
  • Ability to plan and manage projects using industry standard project management methodology (PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Familiar with programming languages object‑oriented and database, including SQL, VB.Net, ASP.Net and Java.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint and Microsoft Office solutions and proficient understanding of office productivity applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Project).
  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies to the advantage of the University.
  • Ability to design, develop, and implement custom applications and web pages.
  • Ability to work with databases to analyze data (MS SQL Server, MySQL) and create ad‑hoc queries for users as requested.
  • Ability to document systems and processes using a variety of methods and tools (UML).

  • Strong written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task and effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.
  • Strong analysis, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to manage time and set priorities working with multiple users, tasks, projects and tight deadlines.
Preferred or Asset Skills
  • Relevant courses in Project Management, working towards PMP Certification.
  • Relevant courses in Enterprise/Business/Information Architecture leading to certification.
  • Relevant courses in team management.
  • Relevant courses in current development tools.
  • Workday Pro Certification is preferred.
Salary and Total Rewards
  • Job Grade N, Salary Scale ($80,569-$130,654).
  • Target Hiring Range: $80,569-$95,000*.
  • This is a permanent position that includes:

*The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.
