Overview

The Permitting and Environmental Management team includes nearly 120 employees across Canada who participate in key projects throughout their lifecycle: from initial assessment of key constraints to strategic development of regulatory approval processes, and compliance management during construction and operation. Our team collaborates on projects to achieve social acceptance and manage our clients' environmental and sustainability commitments.

We are looking for a passionate and determined individual to act as a Senior Biologist. The position is available throughout Quebec, with home offices in Quebec City, Montreal, Trois‑Rivières, Saguenay, Rimouski, or Abitibi, and offers significant flexibility for remote work if desired. Your role
  • Coordinate and implement mandates related to natural environments in environmental impact studies and/or environmental authorizations;
  • Coordinate and/or participate in environmental impact studies and related studies within a multidisciplinary team;
  • Coordinate and/or participate in environmental permit and authorization applications;
  • Coordinate/manage multidisciplinary project teams and subcontractors as needed;
  • Collaborate with various teams and act as an advisor to engineering teams and clients to integrate environmental considerations into projects;
  • Review/draft environmental reports (wildlife, vegetation, management plans, environmental effects assessments, etc.);
  • Ensure proper budget and schedule management for projects;
  • Coordinate and/or participate in preparing high‑quality service proposals (strategy, work plan, client meetings, budget, etc.);
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of methodologies, best practices, and emerging innovations in biological characterization and impact assessment;
  • Promote a culture of safety and integrity in all activities;
  • Act as a mentor to colleagues.
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in an environment‑related field (Master's degree is an asset);
  • Training in environmental engineering is an asset;
  • 10 years of relevant experience in the environmental field;
  • Strong knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation;
  • Practical knowledge and experience in:
    • Environmental management: characterization, environmental assessments, environmental impact studies, authorization requests.
    • Fish habitat: characterization, scientific fishing, field coordination (an asset);
    • Ecology: floristic and ecological inventories, wetland and forest characterization, species with special status, and invasive exotic species;
  • Excellent writing, analytical, and synthesis skills;
  • Ability to work in a team and manage projects;
  • Excellent command of French, both written and spoken;
  • French‑English bilingualism* is an asset.

*This position requires knowledge of another language besides French, namely English, as you will be part of a Canadian, global, or regional management team and will need to collaborate with colleagues outside Quebec.
