Senior Accounting Clerk

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and timely.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Assist with the preparation of accruals for month-end close procedures, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Review accounts for any unrecorded expenses or revenue, ensuring completeness and compliance.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Coordinate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
  • Resolve discrepancies and issues related to financial transactions.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.
  • Assist in the implementation and improvement of accounting systems and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
  • Legal or real estate accounting experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Solono, PClaw, Excel, etc).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
