A regional tourism association in Cranbrook is seeking a School Bus Driver responsible for safely transporting students to and from school. Candidates must have specialized bus training, a valid Class 2 driver’s license, and CPR certifications. The position offers a starting hourly wage of $25, part-time hours on school days, and includes a benefits package. Preference is given to candidates of Ktunaxa or other First Nations ancestry.
The School Bus Driver is responsible for transporting students to and from the ʔaq̓amnik̓ School, ensuring a safe environment for students at all times. This important role ensures proper maintenance of the school bus and takes any required actions to ensure it is in good working order.
The successful candidate holds completion of specialized bus driver training, a valid Class 2 driver’s license with air brake endorsement, a clean driver’s abstract, and valid CPR and First Aid certificates. Experience in the transportation industry is an asset. Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Record Check clearance are required.
Hourly wage starting at $25 per hour and will commensurate with experience and qualifications. Includes a favorable benefits package and pension plan.
Shifts are typically 7:00 – 9:00 am and 2:30 – 4:30 pm on school days for an average of 4 hours per day/20 hours per week. There is opportunity for additional hours for field trip coverage as well.
