Job Description
What You’ll Do

The Sales Representative is responsible for identifying prospects’ needs, influencing decisions, maintaining relationships and selling insurance products.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, BC and Saskatchewan in our Home & Auto Sales department, the core parts of your role will be to:

  • Identify customer needs to build on existing products which includes developing contact plans, introducing new products and services and quote and market personal insurance business.
  • Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects, answer incoming communications, follow-up on expiry date cards, re-quote prospects from previous years and cancelled files, and contact leads generated.
  • Create a trusting environment that fosters new sales opportunities and retention of existing business.
  • Actively participate within the team unit and independently to continuously contribute to overall business improvement.
  • Actively own and resolve all customer inquiries, while ensuring the customer effort is minimized.
  • Accurately process account changes, maintain complete customer documentation, prepare correspondence, and document files for follow up.
  • Tackle complex insurance-related cases, creatively utilizing all available resources until full resolution is met.
  • Maintain a current TAM base and promptly follow up on all client communications.
  • Maintain accurate logs of quotes completed, sales completed, days worked and any other measurements pertaining to monthly reporting requirements.
  • Keep updated on company underwriting guidelines and changing markets.
  • Perform other duties as required.

This is the unique blend of skills and experience we would love to see in an ideal candidate:

  • An AIC license.
  • Other national licensing is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience, preferably in personal lines, automobile and property insurance.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the demonstrated ability to deal effectively with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to handle customer issues in a pleasant and positive manner.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills to handle competing priorities.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Preference given to candidates with experience using Epic, Salesforce and Company portals.

Salary Range

This position offers a competitive salary within a range of $52,454 to $72,096, along with rewarding bonuses that recognize your dedication.
