We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager – Infrastructure (Level 3) to lead high-risk, highly complex infrastructure and construction projects within BC Hydro’s Capital Construction business unit. This role sits within the Construction Planning, Practice & Controls group and includes responsibilities traditionally aligned to project management as well as project controls and resource forecasting.
The ideal candidate brings extensive project management expertise, strong analytical capability, and the ability to develop and sustain robust resource management systems using large datasets from existing BC Hydro systems.
Lead the successful delivery of high-risk, highly complex infrastructure or construction projects, often exceeding $100M in capital cost.
Plan, direct, and report on all project activities, ensuring completion safely, with quality, on time, and within budget.
Develop comprehensive project documents including project plans, risk registers, communication plans, action logs, status reports, and post-implementation reviews.
Oversee diverse workstreams including engineering, procurement, construction management, regulatory approvals, First Nations and stakeholder engagement, planning & controls, pre-commissioning, safety, and quality assurance.
Monitor project scope, benefits, resources, and status using advanced project management tools and methodologies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, engineers, contractors, and field crews through clear and consistent communication.
Establish and maintain implementation standards and project performance metrics using strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Develop and sustain a robust resource forecasting and management system using existing data sources within BC Hydro.
Extract, transform, and load large volumes of system data to accurately predict resource needs across Capital Construction.
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and consistency across all forecasting models and reporting outputs.
Collaborate with project teams to collect accurate data, resolve inconsistencies, and support effective decision-making.
Produce reporting packages and documentation to support divisional management’s resource planning processes.
Respond to recurring and ad-hoc data/reporting requests, designing sound methodologies to address business questions.
Support continuous improvement of forecasting tools, dashboards, and BI models.

SAP BW (SAP-BW/4HANA) and SAP Analytics Cloud
Intermediate experience with:
VBA, SAS, R, Python
Power BI Desktop (including DAX and M)
Power BI Dataflows and BI data modeling
Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline
Engineering degree – asset
PMP® certification – preferred
Program management experience – asset
Minimum 12 years of project management experience (or equivalent) in large, complex environments
Experience in the electric utility industry and/or large construction project controls – strong asset
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills suitable for senior-level stakeholder engagement
Strong analytical skills and comprehensive knowledge of project management practices and procedures
