A prestigious Canadian university is looking for a Residence Admissions Coordinator to support admissions for university residences. In this role, you will manage inquiries, coordinate programs for students, and provide vital administrative support. The Housing and Ancillary Services team manages close to 5,000 student beds in 18 residence buildings, as well as Community Housing, our off-campus rental apartment and housing properties, three dining halls, numerous retail foodservice locations on campus, the Donald Gordon Hotel and Conference Centre, University Club and Event Services. Residence buildings also provide temporary accommodations for the summer conference, events and tourism markets. Revenue and services from these units support vital student life programs and contribute to the University's learning environment. The Residence Life and Services staff team is dedicated to the development of the whole student, promoting diversity, accountability, independence and success in a broader learning environment. The Residence Admissions Coordinator is a key member of the Residence Life and Services team, responsible for supporting the full-cycle admissions process for university residences. As the first point of contact for prospective and current students, families, and campus partners, the coordinator manages a high volume of inquiries via phone, email, LiveChat, and in-person interactions, providing accurate information and guidance on residence policies and procedures. The role provides critical administrative and operational support to the Manager, including drafting and releasing communications, preparing financial journals, administering the room change process, and escalating complex issues as needed. The coordinator plays a vital role in occupancy management, helping to maximize the use of 4,850 bedspaces from a pool of over 5,000 applicants annually. This includes supporting key admissions cycles such as winter intake, upper-year applications, and first-year placements, and contributing to recruitment efforts that align with strategic enrollment goals. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced, student-focused environment. This position develops and coordinates academic and learning-focused programs and events for students who are living in residence and are participating in focused programming. This position acts as a point of contact to new students to support them through the initial orientation period in residence and provides information and interpretation regarding residence policies and procedures. This position also provides recruitment support, as well as feedback, mentorship, and guidance support to Residence Dons.
