The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Senior Scientist, participating in solid state characterization of organic compounds and experiment planning. Candidates should hold a B.Sc. in Chemistry and have some experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in a team are essential. The successful candidates will work on solid state characterization of organic compounds, solid form screening and crystallization development for the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Working in a laboratory environment under the supervision of a Senior Scientist
  • Planning and execution of experiments and characterizations in R&D laboratories
  • Data analysis, interpretation, and documentation in development reports
  • Maintaining a safe and well‑organized laboratory work area
  • Utilizing state‑of‑the‑art instrumentation for solid state characterization of organic compounds
  • Performing polymorph, salt and co‑crystal screening for APIs
  • Communicating results with the internal teams and external clients
Qualifications
  • B.Sc. in Chemistry.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry will be an asset.
  • Work experience in analytical and solid state chemistry will be an asset.
  • Knowledge of solid state and material chemistry will be an asset.
  • Experience in crystallization development will be an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in analytical techniques such as PXRD, DVS, TGA, DSC, NMR, SEM, PLM and PSD will be an asset.
  • Must be highly motivated and have a proven record of success in multiple projects.
  • Must be well organized and able to meet project timeline commitments.
  • Must work well in a multi‑disciplinary team environment and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
