Registered Veterinary Technician

Bayridge Animal Hospital is seeking an exceptional Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team!

Candidates should have a passion for animal welfare, possess an excellent work ethic and have the relevant educational and technical background necessary to perform RVT responsibilities. Previous experience in veterinarian practice or high volume spay neuter clinic is desirable, though not necessary.

As a Registered Veterinary Technician, responsibilities include: providing medical treatments, assisting veterinarians with all aspects of surgical preparation/procedures, monitoring anaesthesia, administering vaccinations, performing in house diagnostics, providing animal restraint when necessary, and other duties as required or directed.

The successful applicant must also be able to work constructively, both as part of a team and independently, possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, and able to work flexible hours.

Assets:

· Graduate of a two-year animal health technician or veterinary health technician college program or a three-year veterinary health technologist college program

· Are currently a member of the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians or working towards attaining credentials

· Knowledge of computers and applications, experience with Avimark would be an asset

· Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Must be able to work closely with other team members, volunteers, the public, in a constructive, positive and practical manner

· Possess a high degree of resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability

· Contribute to providing a high standard of medical care to our patients

· Have the ability to multi-task, stay organized and demonstrate appropriate time management skills
