A rural midwifery practice in Alberta is seeking a Registered Midwife to join the team. This position offers a flexible caseload and a supportive environment with collaborative colleagues. West Country Midwives is seeking a Registered Midwife to join our team. Caseload is flexible. Accepting New Registrants
$5000 signing bonus with 2 year contract.
Relocation funding of $9600 may be applicable for this position.
Start date is flexible.
Eligible for the new Canada Loan Forgiveness Program (up to $30,000 in first 5 years)
We are looking for a midwife who is looking get established in a rural community and build a life. We are a supportive and inclusive practice with a flexibility around caseload and model choice. We have a clinic that has massage therapists, manual therapists, pelvic floor therapists, and prenatal/education/ CPR educators. We support each other with time off call and vacation time. We have supportive colleagues and a good working relationship with other healthcare providers in our community. We have an almost 50% OOH birth rate, 14% c/section rate and low induction rate. We are happy to mentor a New Registrant if you feel that rural midwifery is where you would like to be.
Classified as rural practice and eligible for MARP Funding and relocation funding
Rocky has up to 4 midwifery positions
Flexibility in Caseload and practice model. Primary or team models are an option
Privileges in a local rural hospital as well as a Level 2 within an 1:15 hr radius

Strong advocates of informed choice and normal birth. Low induction and epidural rate. High waterbirth rate, even in the hospital.
