DLF Canada Inc. is currently recruiting for a Regional Sales Manager for our operation & territory in Western Ontario. This position is remote, but the applicant must live in this territory.

About The Job

As the Western Ontario Sales Manager, you will work diligently within your assigned sales territory ensuring continual growth via one‑on‑one communications with Farm Retail Agents. Our Farm Retail product line of Alfalfa, Forage Grasses and Hybrid Corn will be your primary sales focus. You will provide recommendations for the growth and development of existing Agents and new account opportunities. You will be responsible for maximizing sales revenue, achieving annual budget targets, striving for growth, and providing sales forecasts. You will ensure “total customer satisfaction,” including timely communications, marketing program execution, and staying abreast of product development.

Job Responsibilities
  • Participate in business planning and budget sessions as directed by your Leader.
  • Facilitate DLF territory planning, sales meetings, develop and document next steps and take appropriate action to support plan execution.
  • Identify specific new customer targets.
  • Implement a formal approach to market development, including a database of customers/potential customers, market intelligence, call list formalization, and quarterly evaluation of customers.
  • Review bi‑weekly and monthly sales reports to ensure sales and margins are on plan and develop corrective actions when necessary.
  • Continue product and sales education through meetings, seminars and online/virtual upgrading.
  • Support internal control procedures with respect to credit management (i.e., credit holds) and assist in the clearance of any credit matters.
  • Manage accounts receivable through the regular review of aged accounts receivable listings and the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Set and pursue target sales goals, adjusting actions as needed to meet those goals.
  • Review monthly and quarterly progression in sales data and investigate trends and strengths/weaknesses.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key large accounts.
  • Support Customer Service & Production standards and actions arising from “Roundtable” sessions.
  • Maintain a high service orientation to customers and report exceptions as necessary.
  • Support Agents with calls, trade shows and product inquiries.
  • Service existing Agents to ensure customer satisfaction through monitoring sales to meet individual customer criteria.
  • Provide the Marketing Team with technical news, testimonials, etc. to ensure a relevant and current social media platform.
  • Execute marketing support strategies at approved brand standards, including programs.
  • Monitor inventory positions as it relates to day‑to‑day sales operations in coordination with the shipping department.
  • Promote DLF Health & Safety Policy and a safe, healthy working environment by maintaining a zero‑tolerance standard of reducing risk of threat or injury, ensuring adequate training in specific work tasks, and compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Keep the Sales Manager Agriculture, Ontario and Atlantic Canada well informed through formal and informal communication including bi‑weekly reports which include customer and prospect updates.
Qualifications
  • Secondary School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years of experience in agricultural sales‑related business; seed experience preferred.
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certificate is recommended but not required.
  • Demonstrate completion of applicable sales training programs.
  • Demonstrate ability to produce profitable sales growth – develop accounts.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Travel required – Must be able to travel and enjoy being on the road. In vehicle 2‑3 days per week.
  • Excellent verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi‑tasking, prioritization skills and follow‑up skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations and proposals.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Compensation And Benefits

This position comes with a competitive compensation plan that includes a base salary, benefits, company vehicle, Group RRSP option with company matching program, and potential for bonus. Compensation will be based on experience.
