Job description
Overview

Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform that enables organizations with physical operations to harness IoT data to develop actionable insights and improve operations. Samsara aims to improve safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power the global economy across industries including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing.

Working at Samsara means helping define the future of physical operations and contributing to a range of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, Equipment Monitoring, and Site Visibility. As a recently public company, you’ll have autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.

About the role

At Samsara, we hire with intention and build for the long term. Our R&D teams are central to how customers experience Samsara. As a Recruiting Researcher, you’ll go beyond surface-level sourcing to uncover hidden talent and generate insights that influence a search.

You’ll map critical companies and functions in depth, probe signals not visible on a LinkedIn profile, and surface emerging talent that others overlook. Your work will influence how we target the market, whom we engage, and ultimately who joins Samsara. This is an early-career role with outsized impact for someone curious, persistent, and energized by finding needles in haystacks.

This is a remote position for candidates residing in Canada.

You should apply if
  • You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will have real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and ensure workers return home safely.
  • You are the architect of your own career: With the right effort, this role can be a stepping stone to further opportunities at Samsara. We support rapid career development and a culture that encourages experimentation in a hyper-growth environment.
  • You’re energized by our opportunity: Our vision to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your best ideas for customers.
  • You want to be with the best: You will be part of a high-calibre team that supports and challenges you to excel.
In this role, you will
  • Partner with senior recruiters to design and execute deep market maps of priority companies and teams
  • Surface competitive intelligence and talent insights that shape recruiting strategy and influence leaders’ decisions
  • Identify and spotlight up-and-coming profiles who may not be visible through traditional sourcing channels
  • Bring a programmatic lens to the top of funnel, using tools to engage best-in-class talent
  • Produce structured deliverables (longlists, org charts, research briefs) supporting data-driven decisions
  • Experiment with AI and advanced tools to sharpen research while maintaining rigor
  • Operate with urgency and persistence—digging deep and driving clarity amid ambiguity
  • Champion and model Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally
Minimum requirements for the role
  • 2+ years of experience in research, sourcing, or analysis (recruiting, market research, consulting, intelligence, or related fields)
  • Demonstrated ability to dig deep—finding and synthesizing insights from multiple sources beyond LinkedIn
  • Strong communication skills—able to deliver concise, well-structured insights that influence stakeholders
  • Growth mindset with a bias for learning; quick to adopt new tools and techniques
  • Detail orientation and persistence—you thrive on solving puzzles and uncovering hard-to-find information
  • A passion for people, organizations, and how high-performing teams are built
  • Must be based in Canada
An ideal candidate also has
  • Experience supporting technical roles

Samsara’s compensation philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program aims to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) through base pay, bonus/variable pay, and restricted stock units (RSUs) for eligible roles. A new hire RSU award may be granted at hire for eligible roles, with potential annual RSU refresh grants.

We pay for performance, and top performers may receive above-market equity refresh awards.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below market. Base pay offered may vary by city of residence, job knowledge, skills, and experience.

$89,675$116,050 CAD
