Job description

We are looking for a Quotations & Procurement Assistant Responsible to support the preparation and coordination of customer quotations and procurement activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products and services. This role focuses on collaborating with suppliers and internal teams, identifying cost-effective sourcing opportunities, and ensuring a seamless purchasing and quoting process across engineering, operations, and business development.

Responsibilities
  • Quotations
    • Coordinate component costing research (RFQ administration) on all Dorigo turnkey quote opportunities.
    • Select appropriate vendors and work with Dorigo Process Engineering to obtain component cost information on all items on the customer’s BOM.
    • Use software tools including Microsoft Office (Excel) and web-based quotation software to collect, organize and evaluate component costing information received from Dorigo suppliers.
    • Input selected vendor pricing data into turnkey master costing spreadsheet, either through Excel or web-based quotation (includes comparison of vendor pricing, lead times, stock status and minimum order quantities).
  • Procurement
    • Assist in the procurement of materials and components for turnkey contract build requirements as outlined by Operations and Business Development departments.
    • Validate component costing as researched by Quotations staff and determine best supply options or source alternatives if necessary (includes comparison of vendor pricing, lead times, stock and minimum order quantities).
    • Negotiate price, delivery, and other special terms with suppliers.
    • Place purchase orders with approved suppliers and follow upon delivery schedules.
    • Report status of purchasing cycle to Operations Department, noting special circumstances, instructions and any expected surplus components at completion of the build.
    • Actively pursue opportunities to reduce total cost and inventory investment.
Qualifications And Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communications skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self directed, determined, customer/team-oriented, energetic, enthusiastic.
  • Demonstrated tenacious follow-up ability, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have ability to multi-task, judge priorities and handle a variety of duties/assignments at once (sometimes under pressure) with a positive attitude.
  • Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office suite of tools (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • High school graduation and preferable 1-2 years post-secondary education with strong math skills.
  • Related experience within an electronics manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Technical background in electronics; MRP knowledge is a definite asset.
  • Experience within an ISO9001:2000 environment helpful.
  • Exposure to or education in Supply Chain Management is beneficial for this role.

Job Details
  • Job Type: This is an in-person full-time position (40 hours per week) from Monday to Friday at our warehouse in Burnaby, BC
  • Salary: $40,000 to $45,000 based on experience.
