This role involves working on one of the next major hospital projects in Western Canada.

Reporting directly to the Senior Project Manager, you will join the Major Projects team building meaningful multi-year Hospital projects in British Columbia. Projects range from $30 million to $400 million with typical durations of 3 to 7 years. This role suits someone with strong project management and leadership skills who wants to make an impact, in a progressive and supportive environment that fosters high performance and development.

Location

This is a site-based role on various project sites across the Lower Mainland, BC, and Western Canada. Compensation reflects work location and shift schedules.

Your responsibilities
  • Manage time, cost, quality, risks and financial performance of the assigned scope.
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the design-build process, in collaboration with user groups, engineers, architects, and vendors.
  • Develop, review, and provide feedback on project schedules.
  • Assemble submittals and other project documentation (including technical, safety, environmental, QA/QC, insurance, bonding, permits, etc.).
  • Purchase materials and equipment ensuring delivery on schedule.
  • Estimate changes to scope and value engineering options.
  • Collaborate with the construction team to plan, monitor, and manage labor requirements.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor assigned Junior Project Managers or Project Coordinators to support their development.
  • Work with the Safety Manager, foreman, and superintendent to ensure safety on site as the top priority.
Your experience and skills
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Minimum 7 years of construction project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience as the lead project manager on at least two projects with contract values over $7 million.
  • Understanding of project financial reporting and contract law.
  • Experience creating, monitoring, and updating project schedules.
  • Experience estimating projects and/or changes.
  • Experience with Electrical and/or Technology scopes within buildings is preferred.
  • Project Management training or certification; PMP is an asset.
  • Electrical certification or degree in Electrical Engineering is an asset.

Salary range: $95,000-$120,000 per year plus a competitive total compensation package. Actual salary depends on location, shift schedules, experience, and fit. We can discuss the best match during the hiring process.
