A regional health authority in Nova Scotia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead mid-range facilities projects. This role involves overseeing planning, design, and implementation while ensuring compliance with healthcare standards. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5-7 years of relevant experience managing complex projects, along with strong leadership and communication skills. This position aims at improving patient and staff safety across the healthcare facilities.
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and supporting the planning, design and/or implementation of assigned mid-range facilities projects of moderate scope and complexity across Island Health, including project planning, project management, communications, and contract management. Oversees assigned staff and provides leadership by directing work teams, contractors and consultants as needed on a project- by-project basis.
Bachelor degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Red Seal Trade certification, PMP, or a related field together with five (5) to seven (7) years' recent related experience managing, leading and directing facilities projects in a complex healthcare environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid driver's licence.
