The role focuses on planning, designing, and managing transportation projects that move people and goods, providing consulting and technical advisory services for public sector clients such as Metrolinx, the Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO), and municipalities across Ontario.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Direct design staff and manage multi‑discipline project teams.
- Handle financial management including budget forecasting, resource management, change‑order management, and client invoicing.
- Develop proposals, budgets, schedules, and support ongoing business development and client liaison.
- Collaborate with Transportation Leaders and other Project Managers to identify staffing, equipment, and training requirements.
- Support Stantec’s Quality Management System and promote the Environmental Health & Safety program.
- Ensure project functions are performed satisfactorily.
- Create progress reports, proposals, requirement documentation, and presentations.
- Build a strong culture of quality design and teamwork.
- Engage directly with both internal and external clients.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and customer relationship skills.
- Experience in transportation project management.
- Proficiency in report and proposal writing.
- Background in roadway, rail, or transit design.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads, or Civil D is a plus.
Education and Experience
- University or college degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation design and construction.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng. or LEL) – required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of demonstrated experience in project management or engineering design responsibilities.
