Position Overview

Reporting to the Lead - Supply Chain Management, the Project Lead - Supply Chain Management is responsible for managing all supply chain aspects of the assigned projects, utilizing established project management principles, through the planning, initiation, executing, controlling and closing phases. The incumbent provides leadership to ensure the overall completion of project deliverables managing project scope, resources, communications, risks/issues, budget, timelines, procurement, integration, quality, and implementation.

The incumbent exercises the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

Experience
  • Minimum five-years (5) relevant experience in a Supply Chain environment.
  • Minimum two-years (2) project management experience.
  • Experience reporting planning, progress, and results to senior management.
  • Proven experience leading and participating in project teams within materials management, supply chain, or logistics environments.
Education
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Health Management, Project Management, or Management Information Systems.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Enrollment in a relevant certification program is considered an asset (such as SCMP, APICS, CIM, CPIM, PMP).
Qualifications and Skills
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions), and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
  • Knowledge of Safe Work Practices and familiarity with Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulations.
  • Knowledge and understanding of roles and responsibilities of project teams and change management strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics GP, with the ability to analyze and optimize materials workflows.
  • Knowledge of Health Care System, including regional health authorities and matrix reporting structure.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, practices and techniques.
  • Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Demonstrated supply chain knowledge, including warehouse design and operations, rural logistics, remote stores locations, contracting, and integrated inventory management.
  • Demonstrates effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on planning, executing budgets, and cost efficiency.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
