Epiroc Customer Center is looking for an Automation Project Specialist to help support implementation of digitalization and automation projects within the mining and construction industry.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct change of management during visits at customer sites.
  • Provide “hands on” technical support during project implementation phase on each commissioning.
  • Develop project management and technical documentation.
  • Administrative duties, i.e. pricelist updates, Lotus Notes databases, etc.
  • Manage projects from inception to completion.
  • Product development and continuous improvement, agile approach.
  • Become well versed in Canadian specific requirements for all products.
  • Coach and Train field service teams as well as product administrators/planners.
  • Regular customer visits along with collection of performance tracking to support real time data.
  • Responsible and accountable for overall planning and execution of various automation and digitalization projects.
  • Monitoring and reporting of project and system KPI to ensure projects are successful and meeting expectations.
  • Develop and execute project blueprints for all automation systems.
  • Liaison with other stakeholders on project progress and status.
  • Coordination with other members of multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Coordinate activates with sub‑suppliers and other stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with global teams on projects.
  • Travel to customer sites and to global product companies will be required.
  • Support capital equipment marketing teams to estimate project costs and resources required.
  • Plan and coordinate service support resources required for projects.
  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Support Surface and Underground equipment divisions with automation sales by utilizing equipment data to establish baselines of operations.
  • Be an enabler of Epiroc 6th Sense (Insight, Control, Optimize).
Knowledge/Education
  • Technology degree on Mechatronics, Computer Science, Information Technology or similar.
  • Project management certification and experience would be an asset.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum five years of work experience implementing or supporting automation, digital or connectivity solutions within mining or similar industries.

  • Familiarity with ISO processes and procedures.

  • Knowledge on protocols of communication (ProfiBus, Profinet, CAN, etc) is considered an asset.

  • Good communication skills internally and externally and willingness to develop strong relations with the development center in Sweden and Texas.
