What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Associate Director, Enterprise Risk and Business Continuity Programs (BCM), the Program Manager, BCM is responsible for leading the annual BCM program deliverables. In this capacity, you will facilitate the development and maintenance of department related business continuity plans and procedures, including the business impact analysis to ensure top critical function priority is understood. You will be responsible for fostering and maintaining relationships with the critical function owners, collaborating with risk and continuity consultants, and the design and delivery of training and education programs for stakeholders to minimize the GTAA’s exposure to business interruption, corporate, operational and other risks. You will also drive continuous improvement in the delivery of the Continuity program to stakeholders, including through corrective action monitoring and metrics reporting.

As Program Manager, BCM, you will:

  • Lead the annual program lifecycle plan to meet the deliverables requirements of the BCM/Resilience program’s governance and framework, including
  • Manage a business interruption risk register, coordinate with technology teams such as cybersecurity, disaster recovery to align priorities and track controls and mitigation activities using automated tools
  • Recommend reporting approaches for use in dashboard metrics to continually improve and mature the resilience of critical functions against service level metrics during a disruption; and for presentation to working groups, steering committees, senior management and Board
  • Design, develop and deliver training sessions of staff and management on their roles and responsibilities in the event of disruption
  • Manage and track resulting corrective actions and program reporting approaches of BCM material using automated tools such as dashboards and metrics to facilitate management decision-making
  • Influence and drive the owner relationships to foster trust and advise on BCM/Integrated Resilience best practices, including through working groups and one-on-one sessions
  • Partner with business owners to document that cross-functional risk areas and dependencies and business interruption risk areas have been addressed such as location/infrastructure and asset/equipment, technology, vendors, workforce and data risk

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • University and/or College degree required in a related field such as business continuity, disaster recovery, project management
  • Possess or pursuing relevant industry recognized certification in Business Continuity (CBCP/M), Enterprise Risk Management (CRM/PRMIA) or Project Management (PMP) designation
  • 4 years of relevant experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, project management and dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position
