Salary :

The Production Supervisor is responsible for a multidisciplinary team as well as for the safety, productivity and quality of operations. The position follows a 2-3-2 schedule, 12 hours a day in a day/night rotation every 2 weeks.

Tasks:

  • Organize, plan and actively supervise the work of some fifteen employees.
  • Analyze production data in real time to ensure that objectives are met in terms of safety, quality, costs, resource utilization and yield.
  • Lead team meetings and effectively communicate objectives and results to motivate team members to excel.
  • Ensure compliance with work procedures, company regulations, health and safety standards and the collective agreement
  • Manage absences, vacations, replacements, disciplinary measures and time cards.
  • Perform data entry and validate discrepancies with data from employees under his/her responsibility.
  • Ensure timely transmission of relevant information to other team supervisors and department managers.
  • Supervise and collaborate in employee training, acting as a coach.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Act as first responder in case of emergency on evenings and weekends (fire, intrusion, etc.)
  • Support WMS invoicing during short-term replacements of the shipping manager.

Skills and qualifications :

  • Professional degree or college diploma in a relevant field combined with at least 5 years' supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment, or other combination of relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn ERP-type systems.
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and results-oriented skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage change and mobilize team members in this direction.
  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion is an asset.
