Production Supervisor

Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day tasks associated with coordinating all aspects of production, staffing, and scheduling. The Production Supervisor ensures that all company objectives and environmental standards are met.

Expected Contributions
  • Proactively promote a safe work environment and ensure that all employees are knowledgeable and diligent in carrying out their duties.
  • Attend and actively participate in production and safety meetings.
  • Ensure production volumes are met, downtime is limited, and follow up on any problems that may occur.
  • Review a detailed inventory position report to plan production priorities and schedules daily.
  • Assign work tasks to production staff.
  • Assist production, planning and shipping into the inventory management system.
  • Mechanical maintenance supervision to all our equipment.
  • Provide updates to management on status of work orders and daily production.
  • Address employee issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Provide back up to operations administrator by providing work orders, and labels to manufacturing as needed.
  • Conduct spot inventory cycle counts.
  • Assist with other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Technical

  • Ability to work closely with other trades and employees.
  • Lumber manufacturing or wood preserving experience is desirable.

Supervisory

  • Proven experience providing training and direction to staff, motivating and developing staff, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Demonstrated competencies in leadership and communication.
  • Effective coaching and team-building skills.

Personal

  • Attention to detail.
  • Problem solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Competent with Word and Excel.

Compensation and Benefits
  • The typical hiring range for this position is $66,000 - $70,000 annually. The base pay offered is based on geographical location and may vary depending on the applicant's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. Similar positions located in other geographical locations may not necessarily receive the same salary range. The compensation information is an estimate and provided to meet with applicable provincial Pay Transparency legislation.
