A local agricultural company in Manitoba is looking for a Storage and Line Operator. This role involves operating and maintaining potato handling and washing equipment, supervising sanitation processes, and maintaining a clean work environment. Successful candidates should be reliable, able to work unsupervised, and possess a Class 5 driver's license. The position offers full-time year-round employment with advancement opportunities and a benefits package.
Spud Plains Farms Ltd. plants 20,500 acres of crop per season on their farmable land which sprawls over south‑western Manitoba from the banks of the Assiniboine River near Shilo, through the sandy hills of Carberry, north into the dark soil of Neepawa, and most recently west to the loamy soil of Rivers. We grow over 6,000 acres of potatoes including Ranger Russet, Russet Burbank and seed across 12,500 acres of irrigated land. Rotation crops include canola, wheat, rye, and corn.
In the Spring we operate 3 potato seed grading/seed cutting lines, based out of our Carberry and Wellwood locations. In the potato harvest season we will be running 5 grading lines which will be either loading semis direct to the factories and/or into our storage facilities at Wellwood, Carberry, Rivers, or Shilo.
Throughout the seasons we are loading out potatoes with skid steers to fill semis, maintaining yards, buildings, and servicing equipment to have ready for the upcoming seeding or harvest seasons.
