Reporting to the Executive Manager, People and Culture, the Consultant, Employee Health and Wellness is integral in ensuring consistent, collaborative, and effective approaches in the ongoing development, implementation, and maintenance of Employee Health and Wellness programs. This includes, but is not limited to, the management of and commitment to employee health and wellness, disability case management, Employee Assistance Program, and Attendance Support Program.
The Consultant is responsible for implementing and facilitating the early intervention and return to work processes, manages non-occupational short-term and long-term disability claims, and oversees the Board’s attendance support program, while maintaining standards of professional conduct consistent with department expectations, including the confidential nature of the department. Other tasks include employee health and wellness programs and initiatives, the Board’s Employee Assistance Program, CUPE Early Intervention Committee Meetings, ensuring appropriate medical documentation is collected and processed within Collective Agreement timelines, prepare and present Health and Wellness Board reports, and other duties that align with and support the employee Health and Wellness portfolio.
