Qualifications

Parts Counterperson

We are currently looking for a Parts Counterperson for our Ottawa East location:

Reporting to the Parts Manager, Parts Counterperson’s responsibilities will include selling parts to all available customers, over the retail counter, through the shop, or on the telephone.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell and invoice parts to wholesale and retail counter customers.
  • Assist customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
  • Provide technicians with parts accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer telephones and provide quotes to customers.
  • Source parts from aftermarket vendors.
  • Periodically audit inventory to verify inventory quantities are correct.
  • Comply with all relevant Health and Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.
  • Expected to have a positive attitude and promote a healthy work environment.
  • Assist in other areas of Parts Department as required; cores, shipping and receiving.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Parts Technician certificate, an asset.
  • Previous experience in Heavy Truck or Automotive Industry is preferred.
  • Rotating Saturday shift schedule including days and afternoons.
  • Good communication skills and work attitude.
  • Good computer skills - working knowledge and experience with ADP/CDK software an asset.
  • Criminal Record Check.
  • Valid driver’s license and Drivers Abstract.
