Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Operations Supervisor(s), this position is responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of all areas of the facility, contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment. The role ensures adherence to the company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example, and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming atmosphere for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Vacuums hallways, ceiling vents, meeting rooms, and general public areas.
  • Cleans all hard floor surfaces with a hand mop or appropriate machine.
  • Cleans and dusts fixtures, ash urns, walls, signs, sconces, stairwells, doorframes, public telephones, etc.
  • Maintains all housekeeping storage areas with supplies.
  • Polishes chrome and other materials requiring special care.
  • Cleans all interior areas of the property, including gaming and non-gaming areas as assigned.
  • Maintains the exterior of the property, including debris clean-up and emptying garbage cans daily.
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all relevant operational departments.
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with stakeholders (guests, ownership, and team members).
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety, and other statutory regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 1 year of housekeeping/janitorial experience.
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Category 2 Gaming License.
  • Ability to obtain a Smart Serve Certification.

Work Environment Considerations

  • Standing or walking for long periods, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, cleaning; some exposure to heat, cold, smoke; non-traditional work hours.
