Job description

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Oil Field Sales Representative located in Fort McMurray, AB.

This position will be primarily responsible for maintaining and supporting established production chemical programs for local oil and gas producers as well as for growing the current business. You will be supported by a team of sales and technical professionals and have access to internal training opportunities to grow your technical and sales knowledge.

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with current and new customers to understand business needs and recommend continuous improvement and innovation plans that will maintain and grow sales within assigned territory.
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders in current and new customer accounts, including plant or facility executives.
  • Engage in problem solving by performing system analysis, interpreting data and providing written recommendations to ensure customer operations are performing at optimal levels.
  • Provide technical support to customers; identifying and resolving customer concerns, escalating as required.
  • Generate and execute sales plans in assigned customer base and new customer accounts to meet defined territory profit increase goals.
  • Travel required to support business requirements and training opportunities.

Position Details:

  • Candidate must reside in Fort McMurray, AB or surrounding area.
  • Territory will include Fort McMurray, AB, and the surrounding area.
  • Immigration sponsorship not available for this position.
  • Candidate will be working based in Fort McMurray, AB with an opportunity to move to a 7/7 rotational shift.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (Driver's Abstract).
  • This role requires individual to be clean shaven to comply with customer site policy and safety requirement.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry and/or sales.
  • High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems).
  • History of working autonomously in the field and ability to demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multitask.

Physical Demands:

  • Must have the ability to work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position, and the successful candidate will be required to complete drug and alcohol testing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma, or applicable specialty chemical/operational experience.
  • Technical sales or field sales support experience.
  • Specialty chemical industry experience.
  • Prior experience that required excellent communication skills.
  • Prior experience that required excellent organizational skills.
