A healthcare provider in Alberta is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to lead the oncology care for adult patients. Candidates must have a Master's degree in Nursing and a minimum of three years of clinical experience. Your Opportunity:
Are you looking to show your expertise and take a lead role in the development and delivery of oncology care to patients in Alberta? You will be an integral member of our healthcare team working within a multidisciplinary and fast paced environment that prioritizes patient and family centered cancer care. In this clinical focused position, you will work collaboratively with all members of the health care team to coordinate the treatment and management of adult oncology patients. The NP will require in-depth knowledge of adult acute and chronic illness that will be used to deliver oncology care across multiple tumor groups. The NP provides leadership and focuses on improving outcomes and quality of care by advancing nursing and interdisciplinary practice in oncology care with advanced and evidence-based practice. The NP, in consultation with interdisciplinary team members, will take a lead role in developing frameworks and strategies to facilitate the implementation of best practices in oncology. The NP requires strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative and trusting relationships with all members of the interdisciplinary team. You will demonstrate proven skills in the areas of organization, critical thinking, conflict resolution, advanced problem solving, interdisciplinary leadership and change management. The successful NP will bring a core passion for caring for patients and their families. Please note this position is eligible for relocation reimbursement in alignment with organizational policy.
Description:
As a Nurse Practitioner (NP), you will provide a full range of comprehensive health services to individuals across their lifespan. You will be responsible for integrating clinical skills associated with nursing and medicine to assess, diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe treatment, and perform procedures to manage and meet the health needs of patients. Additionally, you will utilize advanced practice nursing competencies related to Clinical Practice, Leadership and Optimizing Health Systems, Education, and Research to increase care quality, promote appropriate use of health services, and inform and influence healthcare systems. Required Qualifications:
Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master\'s degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 3 year of adult acute clinical experience as a registered nurse. Willingness to complete additional education and/or certifications specific to area of practice. Demonstrate strong communication, organization, systems thinking, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills and can work both independently, and collaboratively, within a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with other health care providers across the continuum of health care.
Preferred Qualifications:
NP practice experience in Oncology across a variety of tumor groups is an asset, but all candidates with clinical experience will be considered. NP experience in an ambulatory setting and/or internal medicine. Canadian oncology nursing certifications or evidence of completed oncology-related courses. RN practice experience in Oncology across a variety of tumor groups. Knowledge and experience with Connect Care, and Netcare applications.
