Position Overview
Experience
  • Three (3) years clinical experience in acute care psychiatric nursing required (within the last five (5) years).
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Baccalaureate of Nursing or BSc of Psychiatric Nursing, or RPN with BA (major) in Psychology preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Current CRNM/CRPNM registration required.
  • Active participation in professional associations e.g. Association of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM) preferred.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)/Registered Psychiatric Nurses Act.
  • Knowledge of relevant community agencies/programs required.
  • Group therapy skills and crisis intervention skills required.
  • Applicants will be assessed against the following selection criteria, as applicable to the position: experience, education, patient care and clinical knowledge/skills, leadership skills, communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, quality improvement, teaching skills, research knowledge, professional development and seniority.
  • Current reference(s) may be required upon request.
