Job description

Where:: Renfrew-Collingwood neighborhood of Vancouver.

Job duties:

• Supervising and caring for the child while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for them.
• Feeding the child: planning, preparing, and serving meals or snacks to the child.
• Potty training and teaching the child basic personal hygiene such as handwashing.
• Dressing the child.
• Cleaning up after the child.
• Playing with the child and providing learning and stimulation through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading, and outings.
• Bottle washing.
• Tidying and organizing the child's room and play area.
• Performing general light housework if not caring for the child on a specific day, e.g., laundry, dishes, vacuuming, sweeping.
• Having a flexible evening and weekend schedule, i.e., may be required to stay late or overnight at times or to come on weekends on short notice.

Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time.

The language of work: English.

Wage: $19.00 per hour.

Skills requirements:

Required education:

Completion of secondary school (high school).

Required work experience and skills:

• At least two years of childcare experience.
• Some child development knowledge.
• First aid certification and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training or willing to do first aid certification and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training.
• Teaching or nursing knowledge would be helpful.
• Patient, compassionate, reliable, and flexible.
