A local municipality is seeking a Municipal Worker 1 - Parks Summer Student for full-time positions during the summer term. Responsibilities include parks maintenance, care for sports fields, and participation in safety protocols. Candidates must be attending a post-secondary program and possess a valid Class 5 driver's license. This role requires physical fitness and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Term of Employment: Full‑Time, Summer Term (May 4, 2026 – August 21, 2026)
Rate of Pay: Student Wage Band: $18.05 per hour (Subject to CUPE 1015 Agreement)
Location: Parks & Green Spaces Team (Budmiller All Seasons Park, Parks General and Lloydminster Golf & Curling Club)
The Municipal Worker 1 performs a variety of parks and open‑space maintenance, including all activities associated with turf, tree, flower and shrub bed maintenance, throughout the City of Lloydminster, in a safe and efficient manner. Duties may also include the care of sports fields, playgrounds, and other city amenities. The Municipal Worker will participate in the City of Lloydminster’s Safety Management System. Other relevant duties may be assigned as required.
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with the occasional requirement to work outside these hours, including weekend rotation. Start times may vary from 5:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. depending on departmental needs.
Applicants must be attending a post‑secondary program (college or university) during the last school term and returning to studies in the subsequent academic year. Verification of student status will be required.
