A regional health organization is seeking a Medical Equipment Technician to ensure a safe working environment at Selkirk Mental Health Centre. Responsibilities include managing medical resources and equipment, conducting maintenance, and supervising technicians. Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The Medical Equipment Technician will provide a safe working environment for patients and staff by using best business practices to manage medical resources, equipment, services and processes within Selkirk Mental Health Centre. The Medical Equipment Technician is thoroughly familiar with all installation, maintenance and basic repair of medical equipment including lifting/transferring equipment, mobility equipment, first aid kits, AEDs, and laboratory equipment. The incumbent must work independently to manage the preventative medical maintenance program ensuring all medical equipment operates smoothly and safely on a daily basis. Work may involve the supervision and/or instruction of acting status technicians.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
