Overview

About the Program

We are now accepting applications to our CONSTRUCT YOUR CAREER development program. We are hiring students who are looking for challenge, have a passion for learning beyond the classroom, are highly energetic and motivated CONSTRUCT YOUR CAREER.

Co-op Term Options

This opportunity is available as either a 4-month or an 8-month co-op placement. Candidates who pursue the 8-month term will be assigned to the Maintenance team during the Winter (January - April), followed by a placement with the Pile Driving team during the Summer (May - August).

Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science Mechanical Engineering university program
  • Interest in developing a background in operations with a process improvement mindset
  • Desire to develop Project management skillset (Six Sigma, Lean, MS Projects)
  • Desire to strengthen skills interpreting engineered drawings and shop drawings
  • Ability to multi-task and recognize changing priorities
  • Attention to detail

All of our student roles will require full time enrollment in a related post-secondary program in good academic standing, excellent communication, analytic and organizational skills, and a great attitude with an eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities
  • Exposure to Operations tools and processes
  • Exposure to dispatching of equipment and crane operators
  • Exposure to logistics
  • Estimation of lift projects (from boom truck requirements to major projects)
  • Operations planning and scheduling
  • Training and utilization of company ERP, dashboards and analytics
  • Spend time in operations on project sites and at various IEQ and customer facilities, practicing IEQ’s safety culture
  • Exposure to Health and Safety culture (inspections, JSA’s, etc.)
  • Job shadow opportunities and establishment of mentor relationships
