Onboard Systems International (“Onboard”), a Signia Aerospace company, is the leading global provider of external cargo handling equipment for civil and military helicopters. Founded nearly 50 years ago, the facility in Vancouver, WA has a growing product portfolio including mechanical cargo hooks and suspension systems, proprietary weighing systems, and a Human External Cargo (HEC) line of equipment. The company serves over 1,000 customers worldwide, including OEMs, municipal, fire, search and rescue operators, and utility companies.

Onboard Systems is part of Signia Aerospace, known for industry-leading aerospace and aviation performance and quality.

We currently have immediate full-time openings for a Mechanical Assembly Technician and a Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Technician. These roles support our production team by working primarily in mechanical assembly or in our MRO department. Responsibilities include assembling, disassembling, and rebuilding mechanical aerospace components according to drawings and documentation. This physically demanding role requires good motor skills and the use of hand tools for assembly and measurement, following written plans and blueprints.

Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening. MRO technicians may be subject to FAA drug testing regulations approximately six months after hire, including random drug screens for federally banned substances.

This position is for the day shift, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Performance Objectives:

  • Assemble or repair mechanical aerospace components per drawings and documentation
  • Conduct testing and troubleshooting of finished goods
  • Perform secondary processes such as bead-blasting of CNC components as needed
  • Disassemble, clean, and inspect components for repair
  • Assist in international shipping, adhering to regulatory requirements
  • Support QC by inspecting products using basic hand tools
  • Operate computerized parts pulling machines

Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience in assembly, warehouse, shipping/receiving, or quality work is required.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to follow build instructions, plans, and drawings
  • High attention to detail
  • Basic mechanical skills

Bonus Skills:

  • Soldering skills
  • Experience in international shipping
  • Experience inspecting and honing tight tolerance bores
  • MRO experience is a plus

Salary: $20-$24/hr; Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, vacation, and holiday pay.
