Job description
Overview

The Materials Management Coordinator is integral to the success of daily operations relating to the movement and management of shipbuilding material. The Materials Management Coordinator will work closely with Warehouse Operations, Planning and Procurement and other internal departments. The Materials Management Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring the effective and timely execution of logistic activities. This function shall strive to support an uninterrupted flow of material required by the project.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and ensure proper delivery schedules and keep track of deliveries on a regular basis.
  • Ensure inventory, shipping transactions with documentation are completed and maintain all records.
  • Point of contact between Planning, Warehouse Operations and Procurement.
  • Administer master data changes.
  • Prepare and generate reports; and support KPIs in coordination with the manager and internal logistics.
Qualifications
  • University degree in related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of related work experience.
  • Warehouse and inventory control background considered an asset.
  • Proficient to expert knowledge in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Access, and Adobe Acrobat, with a strong aptitude for learning new software.
  • Ability to multi-task work under pressure in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a team player and self-starter.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
