Role Overview

The Marketing Manager is responsible for executing Ballad’s marketing strategy and ensuring the organization’s brand is consistent, visible, and impactful. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Strategy & Impact, this role will strengthen Ballad’s presence provincially and work toward long-term national recognition. The Marketing Manager will oversee the Marketing & Social Media Coordinator, manage external vendors, and ensure Ballad’s marketing initiatives reflect the brand’s mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities
  • Marketing Strategy Execution: Execute and update Ballad’s marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and measurable outcomes.
  • Brand Management: Ensure brand consistency in look, feel, and messaging across all departments and materials, strengthening Ballad’s reputation and credibility.
  • Brand Recognition & Growth: Build Ballad’s brand recognition provincially, with a long-term goal of establishing national presence through visibility, partnerships, and reputation-building.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Graphic Design & Social Media Coordinator, ensuring social media and graphic design content consistently reflect Ballad’s brand and priorities.
  • Digital Presence: Ensure the website is current and lead updates, delegating to staff or subcontractors as appropriate.
  • Campaign Management: Plan and execute targeted campaigns to raise awareness of Ballad’s programs, partnerships, and impact, leveraging staff and subcontractors as needed.
  • Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Manage subcontractor agreements for digital media buys, website and hosting services, video production, and large-scale design projects.
  • Budget Management: Manage the marketing budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources, subcontractors, and campaigns.
  • Marketing Collateral: Ensure all teams across Ballad have the marketing collateral they require to achieve program and business development goals.
  • Analytics & Insights: Monitor marketing and communications metrics, analyze performance data, and recommend adjustments to improve reach and engagement.
  • Reporting: Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly Employment Services marketing reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Storytelling: Capture and amplify impact stories from participants, employers, and projects to highlight Ballad’s outcomes.
  • External Representation: Represent Ballad and our programs externally at events, industry gatherings, and community forums as needed.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations.
  • Proven ability to execute marketing strategies and manage brand consistency.
  • Strong project management skills, able to oversee multiple priorities, subcontractors, and budgets.
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills for digital, print, and reports.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing, website management, and analytics.
  • Demonstrated success in campaign planning and execution.
  • Collaborative leader with experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable representing Ballad externally.
  • Passion for amplifying social impact and strengthening community presence.
