Overview

Our Energy subsector, a key component of WSP’s ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) sector, supports clients from coast to coast. From small installations to multi-phase integrated megaprojects, we support your upstream, midstream, or downstream oil and gas activities and energy transition markets at all stages of the project lifecycle, anywhere in the world. We are focused on providing design, engineering and environmental services that contribute to climate adaptation and mitigation, sustain the use and protection of water and marine resources, protect and restore biodiversity, and support our clients as they transition to low carbon solutions. To meet our growth challenges, WSP is currently seeking a Market Leader, Energy (Canada East) to join our teams located in any of our WSP Offices in Ontario or Quebec.

The Market Leader, Energy (East) is responsible for overseeing and leading the technical Energy practice in Eastern Canada. This includes leading projects and being responsible for certain accounts and engagements, as well as the overall compliance with national and local regulations, and maintaining high standards of service reliability and customer satisfaction.

WSP is a leader in the delivery of clean energy and Power sector solutions to meet the increasing demand for safe, secure, and sustainable energy for Canadians which requires a substantial expansion of Renewable Energy, LNG, Hydrogen and O&G networks. In this leadership role, you will help bring WSP’s vast expertise, experience, and innovation to support our clients, utilities, and communities in the transformation to a new energy future.

What you’ll bring to WSP
  • More than 10 years’ experience in a leadership role, and must have experience in the Energy sector;

  • MUST have hands-on experience with Project Delivery;

  • Engineering degree in a related discipline or technical diploma from post-secondary institution is required;

  • Proven experience in business development with an existing network in the Energy market;

  • Strong financial and business acumen - experience with managing business operations and/or a P&L is an asset;

  • Strong understanding of the energy sector, including industry trends and emerging technologies related to the energy transformation and decarbonization;

  • Ability to negotiate and build relationships with clients;

  • P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation is an asset;

  • Bilingual in both French and English is required.
