A municipal government organization in Richmond is seeking a Mapping Technician 1 to maintain and expand their GIS database. In this technical role, you will analyze data, produce maps, and support clients with GIS applications. An Advanced Diploma in GIS and 1 year of related experience are required. The position offers competitive pay and benefits in a dynamic office environment.
The Mapping Technician 1 is a technical position responsible for maintaining and expanding a municipal-wide GIS enterprise database.
Completion of Grade 12 plus completion of an Advanced Diploma in GIS studies and 1 year of related experience in Municipal Mapping. An equivalent combination of training or experience may be considered. Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for the Province of British Columbia. Experience with INFOR Public Sector Asset Management Software is preferred as well as experience with coordinate geometry and survey computations.
Work is performed in an office environment with some site visits. Work requires intense visual effort reading, editing and creating maps and plans and working at a computer terminal.
