Overview

The ideal candidate possesses both a high level of technical expertise and an innate passion to build. You will play a critical role in creating and refining processes in order to improve manufacturing safety, quality, and productivity.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain work instructions and manufacturing specifications
  • Identify and recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to facilitate production process and evaluate potential changes
  • Design manufacturing processes for new launches
  • Lead process improvement initiatives
  • Design the production layout
  • Lead ongoing continuous improvement projects
  • Responsible for all APQP activities
  • Capacity planning
  • Provide input during feasibility and capability studies
Qualifications
  • Bachelor\'s degree in either Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years\' of engineering experience
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S
  • Automotive industry is required
  • Metal stamping, welding, and assembly experience is required
  • Ability to recommend and implement process improvements
  • Strong understanding of APQP and FMEA
  • Experience working with design and simulation software is an asset
  • Ability to make recommendations and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
